Budget Proposals
From time to time the Parish Council decides that certain works, repairs or enhancement should be carried out but we keep a small reserve for emergencies, therefore new projects have to be costed and allowed for inclusion within the precept for the following year, or in some cases by saving an amount from several years’ precepts e.g. West Wycombe Burial Ground was saved for over 10 years prior to its creation in 1998 and its subsequent opening in 2000.
Typical examples of improvement projects in the past have included the Bradenham Road Bus Shelter, the lights in Chorley Road, Bradenham Road and Church Lane, the pavement leading to the school and the West Wycombe Road Pelican Crossing.
We have decided to start reserving money for three or four extra Heritage street lights for the section of road in front of the school. We do have a large amount of lighting in our Parish which is our responsibility and because of the increases in energy prices and environmental issues we will be carrying out an environmental audit this year and looking at ways in which we can combine the safety of our residents and consideration for the environment.
If you have any suggestions for works and improvements for the Parish, please contact your local councillor.
